Hong Kong is very small, accessible city with a high density of portals. This makes it a perfect opportunity for UPVs.

MTR Shau Kei Wan Station Exit C or Kennedy Town Station Exit C

Notes:
HK Tram operates from 6am to midnight. In addition to being a historical and iconic must-ride journey for tourists, tram-gress is unique in the world. It is cheap, frequent, easy to get on, and is a good way to travel between dense portal areas.

 

Central

~100 portals if follows the circular walk, about 1 hour.  

Notes:
24 hours accessible and places to eat are available during business hours. A circular walk along Lugard and Harlech road is worth it for views and extra UPV. Visitors can also walk up Victoria peak garden for some more UPVs. Mobile data reception may be patchy at certain spots along the circular walk. It is suggested to arrive the peak just before sunset hour so that you can enjoy both the day and night view of the Victoria Harbour.

Alternative Exit Route:
Can walk down through Pok Fu Lam reservoir and bus back to Central or follow Hong Kong trail to Aberdeen park and visit Aberdeen for more UPV.

 

Admiralty

Causeway Bay

Mei Foo

Notes:
Lingnan Garden opens 7:30AM to 11PM. Portals are still reachable outside the Garden after 11pm. Lai Chi Kok Park is 24 hours accessible. The garden architecture is designed in Lingnan style, after the traditional Chinese layout of courtyards and winding corridors.

 

Hung Hom

Notes:
The area is accessible 24 hours, although the inside buildings are locked at night. There is a mission set in Poly U but it may be difficult for visitors to complete as a lot of the mission questions depend on local knowledge and are in Chinese.

 

Tsim Sha Tsui

Notes:
The whole cluster consists of the open area outside Ocean Terminal, the 1881 Heritage, as well as the waterfront area around the Star Ferry, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Space Museum. The iconic Clock Tower is right there facing the quintessential Victoria Harbour view. Visitors can also enjoy A Symphony of Lights light show at night. Except for the inner portals at 1881, all portals are accessible 24 hours. The neighboring Avenue of Stars is currently closed for redevelopment.

 

Kowloon Park

Diamond Hill

Notes:
Opening hours are 7am to 9pm. The Chi Lin Nunnery is a Buddhist temple complex following the style of Tang Dynasty traditional Chinese architecture. Start with the Nan Lian Garden, then cross the bridge to Chi Lin Nunnery. Don’t forget to visit the Hammer Hill Park for a few more portals.

Alternate Exit Route: 
You can walk to Wong Tai Sin Temple via Fung Tak Road and Lung Cheung Road for about 20 minutes.

 

Wong Tai Sin

Notes:
Wong Tai Sin Temple opens from 7am to 5:30pm, Morse Park No.2 is 24 hours accessible, and Kowloon Walled City Park opens from 6:30am to 11pm. After finishing Wong Tai Sin Temple, you have to walk through Ching Tak Street and Tung Tau Tsuen Road to get to Morse Park No.2. After Morse Park No.2, you can go to Kowloon Walled City Park by walking along Tung Tau Tsuen Road in the south direction.

Alternate Exit Route:
If you want to take MTR, you can walk along Junction Road heading north to MTR Lok Fu Station. Otherwise, you can go south to Regal Oriental Hotel bus station to take buses towards everywhere in Kowloon.

 


 

Area: NEW TERRITORIES

 

Tsing Yi

Entry Route:
MTR Tsing Yi Station Exit A2/F/G. Go inside the Maritime Square, head to the ground floor for an exit to the Tsing Yi Promenade. Turn left and walk along the waterfront for ~20 minutes.

Notes:
Opening hours: 8am to 11pm. Here hosts the Stonecutter bridge mission series, total time about 2 hours if UPV and mission.

Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery

Entry Route:
MTR Sha Tin Station Exit B. From the MTR station exit B, turn left and go down the slope. Then, follow Pai Tau Street towards the Grand Central Plaza. Turn left when you reach the Grand Central Plaza, then right on the next junction to the Sheung Wo Che Road. The path at the end of the road will lead to the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery.

Notes:
Opening hours are 9am to 5:30pm. The path to the monastery, which covers half the cluster, is 24 hours accessible. There are about 12800 Buddha statues in the monastery. The Main Temple and the Pagoda of the monastery are graded as Grade III Historic Buildings. The path to the monastery is a steep staircase with more than 400 steps, lined with golden Buddha statues along the way.

 

Ma On Shan

MTR Ma On Shan Station Exit A. Enter the Ma On Shan Plaza from exit A (both ways lead to the same place). Behind the elevators is an exit with a bridge that leads to Ma On Shan Park.

Ma On Shan Park opens from 6:30am to 11pm. On Luk Street Park is 24 hours accessible. Visit Ma On Shan Park in counter-clockwise direction and get to the library and sports centre. Then go to On Luk Street Park via On Chun Street, On Yuen Street and Sai Sha Road.

Alternate Exit Route:
After reaching the other end of On Luk Street Park, you can go back to the MTR station via On Shing Street Garden and Sunshine City Plaza.

 

Tuen Mun
